Anna Ingleby

Originally from an art (stained glass) background, Anna eventually studied puppetry in India in 1991. Her PGCE (secondary) school teaching qualification has allowed her a lot of experience in schools as a supply teacher.

After spending a year at the Desmond Jones School of Mime and Physical Theatre in London Anna became a freelance puppeteer, performing with various companies since 1993. She also lived in Indonesia for 2 years studying mask dances and traditional rod puppetry. In 1999 she began trading as Indigo Moon Theatre.

Alongside her workshop activities in schools (both primary and secondary) she has worked on many other projects in museums and arts centres such as The Barbican, London International Festival of Theatre, the British Museum, the Geffrye Museum, the Theatre Museum, the V&A etc. She has also been involved in various projects for film and TV, including most recently The Storymakers for CBeebies. Since 1992 she has also been part of the team for Manju Gregory’s company Kabutar.

Anna worked between 2001 and 2002 as a visiting tutor teaching The Puppet as an educational Tool and Puppetry and Special Needs on the HND Puppet Theatre Arts Course at the Scottish Mask & Puppet Centre (accredited by Anniesland College of FE, Glasgow).
